Pseudocyst of Pancreas

Abstract
|
|
|
The pseudocyst of pancreas is a term used to describe a collection of liquifying necrotic tissue which includes penereas and pancreatic secretory products either within or without the organ.
It is surrounded by a fibrous sac without an epithelial lining. This is rare condition and has been reported several cases in Korea. We experienced a case of pancreatic pseudocyst due to pancreatitis and 3 cases of pancreatic pseudocysts due to pancreatic trauma from February 1971 to October 1972 at Korea University Medical College Woo Sok hospital.
Two cases were treated with cysto-jejunostomy in good result. Remaining two cases were treated with simple catheter drainage but one case had unevenful postoperative course another remaining one case expired postoperative 23 days.
The history, incidence, diagnosis, mortality, complication, treatment etcf of the pseudocyst of the pancreas were reviewed.
